My Own Personal Journey...
From Doubt to Confidence
As a mom of 4, I’ve seen firsthand how each child’s reading journey is unique:
M10, Primary 4, was reading independently by age 4. A prepared home environment, together with his strong working memory played a big role in his early success. Now, he confidently writes compositions and I enjoy reading his work!
M8, Primary 2, initially struggled with spelling. When I taught him advanced phonics and syllable division skills, he applied them and now learns spelling efficiently and independently.
M6, in preschool, I focused on her phonological foundation skills when she was 4yo and left her school to teach her phonics. She started reading independently soon after she turned 5 this year! She also struggled to have an interest in writing last year and this year I focused on building her confidence and interest in writing. She’s enjoying story writing with me now when I have pockets of time with her.
M3, surrounded by books and language from birth. We’re introducing her to letter sounds and phonological awareness effortlessly. She’s stringing sentences, using them in correct context, loves to pretend read on her own and we’re seeing a rapid increase in her vocabulary. She’s the main tester the pre-readers membership and she’s growing together with this membership.
