I felt quite assured after hearing Elaine said that "earlier is not better" as bedtime story telling can be very tiring. I was worried that my son was lazy to read independently but reckoned that he is simply not ready to or desires and enjoys the time spent with me.
I like the part when you spoke of print motivation and how important it is. I shall be making their mandarin books more accessible, and will also consider picking up one to read on my own. I loved the part about making a comfortable space for the kids to read. I think having it makes a lot of difference.
